Transfers
1. How do I get reels or tapes to you?
In Louisville, we come to you to pick up your video. Outside of Louisville Metro, please send what you need transfered to us. CONTACT US. We'll pay shipping & handling on the way back to you.
2. Do I get my originals back?
Oh yes. Your pictures, film reels, and tapes are handled with extreme care, and returned to you with your final production.
3. I want a Highlight Movie for my footage, how does it work?
You have some options to choose from. You can tell us what parts of the footage you want in the Highlight Movie. You may also scedule a free appointment with us after we have already digitized your video. Together, we will find the clips you want. All editing will be done later.
PROVIDE PICTURES! Having a mix of pictures and video makes for a great final Highlight Movie.
4. Can I add my own narration?
Yes, we're a full production company. $25/hr.
5. How long does it usually take?
We are guarantee no longer than two weeks for less than ten transfers. Check availability, some transfers are finished in two days.
6. How do I add music, and how much does it cost?
You may choose a whole album or provide CD or list of songs to play during the footage. For silent 8mm footage this option is used often. The charge is $1/minute or $45 an hour. Please contact us for a free demo DVD.
Editing Options
1. How do you calculate the time spent on a completed production?
On average, it takes one hour of production time, for every minute of edited footage. Editing is $25/hr. Therefore, it is $25 for every minute of Edited footage
note: some products have a flat rate.
2. What is a Highlight Movie?
A Highlight Movie is a great way to condense hours of footage into a fun and beautiful feature presentation. You pick the soundtrack, provide still pictures, and specify what you want highlighted, then we'll take care of the rest. SAMPLES AVAILABLE!
3. Tell me about adding pictures.
You can email or send a CD with pictures. Digitalcraft can also scan your pictures for you, and a picture CD will be provided with your final production at no extra charge. Pictures are artistically arranged to the tempo set by your soundtrack. Editing fee is calculated by length and a $1 per photo charge is applied.
4. Can you adjust the color and brightness?
Yes, it's called Color Correction.
Color Correction is added after film is digitized.
Color Saturation, brightness, and contrast are adjusted to restore the orginal appearance of your film. This is highly recommended for film reel transfers.
